What We Believe
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, divinely inspired, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. It is true, sufficient, and reveals God’s plan for the salvation of mankind.
We believe in one true God, eternal, holy, and sovereign, creator of all things, who exists as a family: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three persons are almighty, coeternal, and share one and the same divine essence.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary, a woman favored by God. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the only perfect sacrifice for our sins. He died on the cross, rose bodily on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is at the right hand of the Father. We believe He will return in a visible and glorious manner in the not-too-distant future.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is God and works in the world convicting of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He lives in those who have received His baptism, with the manifestation of speaking in tongues and/or prophesying, who regenerates the believer and empowers him to live a holy life in accordance with the will of God through His gifts.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, but fell into sin through disobedience and the influence of the enemy, becoming separated from God. For this reason, every person needs salvation, since it cannot be attained by one’s own merits or good works alone.
We believe that salvation is an unmerited gift from God, granted by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This salvation includes the forgiveness of sins, justification, the new birth, and eternal life. Salvation does not come by the works of the old Mosaic law, lest anyone should boast.
We believe in the Church as the body of Christ, made up of all true believers filled with the Holy Spirit. The Church exists to glorify God, preach the good news of the gospel of the Kingdom, and make disciples in all nations. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church.
We believe in water baptism and the Lord’s Supper as acts of obedience established by Christ. These do not grant salvation, but are outward expressions of an inward reality of faith and an act of obedience to His commandments.
We believe that the believer is called to live in holiness, being led by the Holy Spirit, obeying the Word of God, and reflecting the character of Christ in his daily life.
We believe in the literal resurrection of the dead, in eternal life for those who have believed and obeyed the commandments of Jesus Christ, and in eternal judgment for all men who rejected Him, those who were disobedient, and those who did not keep all His commandments.
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ, who will come in a literal, visible, and glorious manner to fully establish His Kingdom and consummate all things.
